#occupytoronto – Photo Blog

For a little over two months now, #occupy protests have been going on across North America and around the world. In recent weeks, much of the attention has shifted to whether or not the occupiers should be allowed to take up residence in public spaces, such as Saint James Park in downtown Toronto.

I have mixed feelings about the protests. Overall, I’m supportive of the movement and the principles that the occupiers stand for, at the same time, I really worry that right now, the message has gotten clouded by a fight about tents in the park, rather than the real issues at hand.

I choose to live in Waterloo Region. I don’t live here just because my job is here. I don’t live here just because my family is from Waterloo. I live here because I see the way our region is growing and evolving and I want to be a part of it.

Waterloo Region has the potential to become one of the greatest places in the world to work, play and live. But, we are not quite there yet.
