Last month I had the opportunity to speak on a panel at Ontario’s first 140 Conf. It’s always a pleasure to be asked to share ideas and opinions, but this was a really special opportunity! I was asked to be on a panel with a handful of other incredible community leaders (Hilary Abel / @angrycelery, David Yoon / @daejin_v2 and James Howe / @Communic8nHowe) and our panel was actually left pretty wide open (which is rare).

I left my job at RIM almost a year ago now. I did so in order to pursue other opportunities, but after my tenure there I feel very close to much of what is currently happening within the company and our community at large.
Read MoreOver the past few months I have had the pleasure of working with Gabrielle & Cate as well as more recently, a team of 12 trustees (Cate is one of them) on launching the KW Awesome Foundation. In a nutshell, the board of trustees gets together every other month, hears pitches about “awesome ideas” (we define awesome as: we know it when we see it) and then awards $1000 to the top idea. A second, $200 prizeis awarded to the “people’s choice” (voted on by the audience).

Well, if you haven’t heard me go on about a guy named Peter Katz, here’s your chance. Last Friday night, I went with a few friends to go check out his show at the Registry Theater in Kitchener. While Peter plays in KW on a pretty regular basis, acoustically, this is the best place I’ve seen him play (except for a church in Toronto last year).
